Owner of Emerson Carpet One
Lee is the current and longtime owner of Emerson Carpet One Floor & Home in Baton Rouge, LA. He got his start selling carpet remnants he’d obtained from his father’s carpeting store, Lee began making the rounds in his old station wagon, selling remnants to students living in the dormitories. Lee completed his studies in 1986 and, in 1994 moved the business in a brick-and-mortar store his wife had designed. A year later, the family business joined Carpet One Floor & Home, North America’s largest cooperative of independently owned-and-operated flooring stores. He is training his two daughters, Ariane and Olivia, and the next generation of the family, to take over the business in the future.

Operations Director
Ariane Emerson is the Operations Director at Emerson Carpet One Floor & Home and represents the next generation of leadership within the family business. She began working at the store in high school and continued while earning her degree in Drafting and Design. With a strong background in both operations and community service through organizations such as Susan G. Komen, Ariane is fully invested in the family business today and passionate about upholding its values of family, integrity, and local commitment.

As Finance Director and leader of Multi-Family Sales, Olivia plays a key role in the daily operations at Emerson Carpet One Floor & Home. After graduating from LSU in 2013, she pursued opportunities that allowed her to travel, volunteer, and gain life experience before stepping into the family business. Today, Olivia is proud to work alongside her sister as part of the next generation of ownership, continuing the family legacy of quality flooring, trusted service, and strong multi-family relationships in Baton Rouge.

Senior Flooring Specialist
Jeff Bankhead has been a part of our Carpet One family for over 30 years. He is our resident Insurance Claims expert. He has helped hundreds of people navigate the issues of flooring after accidents. Jeff is also the main contact for most of our commercial customers; keeping things on track and everyone up to date on the progress of their project is his forte.

Jennifer Herring has over 25 years of experience in the industry, specializing in tile design. She focuses on building long-term client relationships and providing expert guidance on flooring selection and installation. She is passionate about transforming spaces, ensuring customer satisfaction, and educating clients on the best flooring options for their space, style, lifestyle, and budget. Her mission is to make the selection and installation process seamless from start to finish. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2005. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two sons, Gage, 24, and Carson, 14. Gage is a Mixed Martial Arts fighter, and Jennifer is his number one fan. She also loves playing basketball with her son, Carson, and watching him play for his school.

Warehouse Manager
After marrying into the Emerson family, Seth saw a place in the business where he could help achieve an even higher level of customer service - installation. In 2023, Seth left his warehouse supervisor position at BBQ Guys and joined Emerson Carpet One as Warehouse Operations, streamlining receiving, inventory, installations, and customer service. Seth spends his free time doing home projects, cooking, and spending time with his wife and their 2 dogs.
