Emerson Carpet One is a family business with a long history. The Flooring business for the Emerson family started with Floyd Emerson, who had a small, stock only warehouse in New Orleans, Louisiana called Carpet Corner. Lee, his son, grew up working with his father during his summers learning the business. Lee later moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to go to LSU. He started selling carpet for dorms from the back of his blue station wagon. After graduating Lee started his own flooring business in 1996 mainly focusing on apartment jobs. Later he joined Carpet One he is now selling to large commercial companies, apartment complexes, rental properties and residential homes. He has come a long was from selling from the back of his station wagon but he still has his friendly demeanor and keeps the business a true family business with both his daughters joining in.
